(懷念) Merrill Dee Shumway

我非常喜愛且敬重的一位長者於2012.10.15.過世了，Merrill Dee Shumway，享年73歲。

2006年我在澳洲唸書時，他和太太這對恩愛的夫妻剛抵達澳洲雪梨開始一年半的傳教生活，他們總是手牽著手，互相扶持，時時表現出對人們的關愛。以下是他在一個月前寫下的話：

Nine Things I Have Learned 我學到的九件事

1, It takes hard work to support a family. 
養家需要辛勤的工作

2, Every person has some good in them.
每個人都有善的一面

3, It is not my place to condemn others.
我沒有權利去譴責他人

4, For me, true happiness has come whenever I followed Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. 
對我來說，真正的幸福來自跟隨天父和耶穌基督。

5, Men and women are different and the best marriage is when the man does what the woman wants.
男人和女人是不同的，圓滿的婚姻是當男人滿足女人的需求。

6, No one makes you mad.
沒人能使你生氣

7, You can chose your actions but you cannot choose your consequences.
你可以選擇自己的行為，但是你無法選擇你的後果。

8, Happiness does not come from things.
物質無法帶來幸福

9, Your life is what you make of it.
你的人生是靠自己去創造的
